Climbing the Sahou Kante (左方カンテ) on Mt. Shakujo 錫杖岳, one of the few halfway easily accessible rock areas
According to the guide book the access is one of the shortest and best for alpine routes in Japan. What does that mean? 2.5h through thick forest, crossing streams, crawling up river beds, all the time attacked by about billions of various kinds of mosquitos. Can't imagine a better approach ;-)
Climing was nice, recently practically all the protection has been taken out, so a good set of nuts and friends is very helpful.
